Emotron AFG - Grid Feedback Converter

Grid-Ready Bidirectional Converter, up to 98% Efficiency

The Emotron AFG is a grid-ready converter that connects DC sources, motors and generators to the AC grid with up to 98% efficiency and low harmonic distortion. It is used in renewable energy, battery storage, fully electric and hybrid drive systems, and onshore power supply (shore-to-ship) installations.

The AFG produces three-phase AC from a DC source and handles bidirectional power for motor/generator connections, such as windmills or marine shaft generators. Grid-code compliant software allows direct connection to a public grid or micro-grid, or formation of an island grid, with anti-islanding detection and grid support functions including FFR and FCR frequency control, black start, intended islanding and reactive power support.

It uses an active IGBT rectifier with an AFG-type LCL line filter, can switch between control modes as needed, and is delivered in IP54 cabinets with robust, interchangeable, self-monitored power modules.
