Emotron VSI - Generator Control

Modular Converter for Motor and Generator Control, up to 4000 kW

The Emotron VSI is a modular converter that generates variable three-phase AC voltage and frequency to control an AC motor or generator. One or more VSI units can be fed from any DC voltage source, which makes it a strong fit for marine, shore-to-ship and renewable energy systems.

It handles bidirectional power up to 4000 kW, for both motoring and generating. FDU (V/Hz) and VFX (direct torque control) versions are available, each with a three-phase IGBT bridge, DC fuses, DC capacitor link and control unit. Units above 200 kW use parallel PEBBs (power electronic building blocks), with optional PEBB redundancy.

It supports PM and induction machines, micro-grid operation and 120% or 150% overload capacity, with an optional output choke, air or liquid cooling, 98–99% efficiency and DNV marine approval.
