Single Phase Brake Motors integrate an electromagnetic brake assembly directly into a single-phase induction motor, providing instant stopping action when power is removed — critical for safety-sensitive applications, precise positioning equipment, and hold-on-stop requirements in single-phase electrical environments. The spring-applied, electromagnetically-released brake design ensures fail-safe operation even on power loss.

Available in 0.18 kW through 2.2 kW (0.25 HP through 3 HP) at 230V/1-phase/50Hz. Brake torque is typically rated at 150-200% of motor full-load torque, ensuring positive stopping under load. Construction features include capacitor-start or capacitor-run motor designs, DC-released electromagnetic brake, manual release lever (for emergencies), and IP54 protection.
