CG Power and Industrial Solutions has launched NEXORA, a new series of next-generation IE3 and IE4 general purpose motors, announced in Mumbai on 4 August 2026. As an authorised CG Power dealer in Mumbai, Bombay Engineering Syndicate will supply the NEXORA range as it reaches the market — here is what the launch actually means if you buy, specify or maintain low voltage motors in India.
1. What Is NEXORA?
NEXORA is CG Power’s new family of squirrel cage induction motors for general purpose duty, positioned as “Robust. Efficient. Reliable.” It extends CG’s existing IE3 and IE4 low voltage portfolio with a design focused on higher power density, lower temperature rise, reduced noise and vibration, and longer service life. Efficiency exceeds the requirements of IS 12615 and outperforms IEC benchmark standards.
2. Launch Range and Specifications
The first NEXORA motors are available in the CG280SM cast-iron TEFC frame, covering 37 kW to 90 kW (50 to 120 HP) across 2, 4, 6 and 8-pole configurations. The complete portfolio will span frame sizes 80 to 355 and is being rolled out to the market in phases. The range complies with IS 12615:2026, IEC 60034-30-1 and IS 15999-1.
3. Why the Insulation System Matters
NEXORA uses an Impulse Voltage Insulation Class scheme compliant with IEC 60034-18-41. In plain terms: windings that better withstand the fast voltage spikes a VFD throws at a motor. If you run motors on drives — and most new industrial installations do — insulation is where cheap motors fail first. 4. Built for Indian Operating Conditions
Two features stand out for plants in coastal and industrial belts like Mumbai, Taloja, Ambernath and Gujarat’s chemical corridors. First, C3M corrosion protection — improved durability in humid and chemically aggressive environments, which directly extends housing and fastener life near the coast. Second, the VFD-ready design — optimised for variable frequency drive applications requiring precise speed control, without the derating games older designs required.
5. IE3 vs IE4: Which Should You Buy?
IE4 (Super Premium Efficiency) motors cost more upfront and repay it in energy savings — typically the electricity bill is more than 95% of a motor’s lifetime cost, so even a one to two percent efficiency gain compounds fast on motors that run long hours. For duty cycles above roughly 4,000 hours a year, IE4 usually wins; for standby or intermittent duty, IE3 remains the sensible choice. 6. Who NEXORA Is For
General purpose motors of this class drive pumps, fans, blowers, compressors, conveyors, crushers and machine tools across industries — chemicals, pharma, textiles, cement, food processing, water treatment and building services. The 37–90 kW launch band covers the workhorse sizes of most process plants. If your plant standardises on CG motors, NEXORA is the natural specification for new installations and for replacing failed IE1/IE2 motors, where the efficiency jump is largest.
